Movietone's taking a break
A portal, perhaps, attempting to bring the distant near. A reminiscence of films and players seen during 70 years. First seen in dark buildings surrounded by strangers and now watched again and again on diminished screens. Herewith some random thoughts on that flickering past. Remember when the lights went on and we had to leave the theatre? From Rick’s CafĂ© Americain to Lexington Avenue? Laszlo's on Lex.
...Man - I was watching 'Arsenic and Old Lace' the other day, and I was taken aback by how much Miss Lane favors Ginger!!! Personality and everything! She may be one that gets 'mistaken' for Ginger in some of these photos making the rounds...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info, Gordon!!!

Thank you VKMfan. Yes, resemblances in look and manner are there and second tier actresses (no slight intended) inevitably either consciously or subconsciously emulate the style and the mannerisms of the superstars (e.g., Ginger). Appreciate your stopping by. I do sometimes really confuse the two that I have listed. Best. Gerald.
ReplyDeleteI feel like I should cue twilight zone music, and wish I actually possessed the power to do this.
ReplyDeleteThank you for coming by Meredith. On another front, Advance Seminars have a way of becoming past seminars and one looks back after a while from a different camera angle. Best. Gerald.
